Emelianenko was in a “lose-lose” situation because Hendo was actually
just a 185-pounder competing in a heavyweight matchup.
“If I’ve got to still give Fedor his digs, my dig would be, ‘Dude,
you’re fighting a 185-pounder.’ Henderson’s got a great chin, he’s
durable, he’s got good wrestling, he can stay out of submissions, and
all the great things I can say about Henderson, but Henderson weighs 185
pounds,” White previously stated.
“So I actually think this fight, as far as Fedor is concerned, it’s a
lose-lose for him. If he knocks out Dan Henderson, he knocks out a
185-pounder. If he gets knocked out, he just got knocked out by a
185-pounder.”
Although Emelianenko enjoyed at least a 16 pound weight advantage
against the reigning Strikeforce light heavyweight champ, he wound up
enduring the latter of the two scenarios inside the Sears Centre in
Illinois. When it was all said and done, the Russian found himself on
the wrong end of a three-fight streak.
Because White is finishing up his vacation, he only had access to his
Twitter account in order to respond to Fedor’s latest loss.
“Michael Jordan of MMA!? Dumbest thing ever said!!! So stupid,” White tweeted just moments after Saturday night’s main event.
