Dana White Would Like to See TRT Banned; Addresses Vitor Belfort Situation

The more time goes by the more Dana's stance against TRT and TUE's gains strength.

I believe it's time to move the testosterone deficient fighters who can't cut it without TRT into a seniors division or have them retire.

"It doesn't matter where 'Vitor' fights. If you ask for a TRT exemption, you are going to be tested brutally."

White's point was made even stronger when discussing TRT and it's alleged fountain-of-youth effect on older fighters.

"If he can't stop taking it, maybe it's time to hang them up," said White.

This is an issue that simply will not go away until TRT is simply banned from use.

When ALL of a fighters losses are all against TRT users (Michael Bisping) then (IMO) it's use as a cheating device has to be addressed far more forcefully than the current Status Quo.

Random testing during training cycles would certainly go a long way to reaching this end if a complete ban is not forth coming.

It may be a legit medical condition but it's being abused. Simple as that.

Honestly, I think Dana is handling this the best possible way.
If he just outright bans it, then the TRT fighters, their managers, and their fans will be endlessly complaining that they are being treated unfairly and that they are allowed to legally have TRT. If Dana does nothing, then we're going to keep having these questions about whether or not these guys are abusing it and jacking up their levels during training camps.
So now Dana is saying OK, you say you need it and you're only getting it to bring yourself back to "normal" levels and you're not abusing it and trying to get an unfair advantage? Fine. Prove it. We're gonna test you like crazy and if you're levels are too high, fuck you. You're out of the fight. If your levels are fine, great! Now let's see if you can perform just as well as you did before we started testing you.
My guess is that we are going to suddenly and mysteriously see a big decrease in the amount of TUE requests, now that the opening to abuse it has been closed.

Yeah, I totally agree with this.

Back in the day when I first heard about TRT I was one of the ones saying I was ok with it. It sounded reasonable to me. Guys taken the treatment to get their levels back to normal levels only. But, the more I have heard and learned about it my stance has changed. Most of the guys taking it need to get their levels back to normal because they did steroids in the past. Bah!
