Guida Fights Mendes at #UFC on FOX 7

The “Money” train waits for no man. Or in this case, waits for no Manny Gamburyan. After watching an injured Gamburyan withdraw from their UFC 157 bout at the 11th hour, Chad Mendes has been reassigned to fight Clay Guida (Pictured) at “UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez.”

UFC President Dana White confirmed the featherweight affair with USAToday.

“There’s not a huge line of people that want to fight Chad, especially on two weeks’ [notice],” White stated. “But Chad is the best – if not, the second best – guy in that weight division, period. Chad’s not going to turn anybody down. He believes he can beat anybody.”

Mendes was last seen steamrolling Yaotzin Meza at UFC on FX 6. The former top contender has spent a total of two minutes and 26 seconds inside the Octagon in his last two wins.

The only thing crappy about this fight is if Guida can manage to LnP his way to another decision, he will probably get a title shot.

Wait, did Dana just say Mendes possibly "is the best" in the division? Where the hell was Dana when Aldo stuffed Mendes' takedowns and then flattened his face with a knee? Not to mention the rest of Aldo's reign of terror? And also not to mention that Aldo is the fucking mutli-time defending champion?

Dana's hype-train chromosome seems to get the best of him sometimes.
