well that sucks for forrest big time but i cant help but feel this injury did him a favor cause i really dont think he stood a chance against davis in there fight.

I shall keep saying it until someone listens. TRT therapy allows a fighter to train above the physical limitations of their aging bodies.... injuries like these will become more and more prevalent as more TRT therapy becomes sanctioned.

That's actually pretty interesting, and it does seem like a shitload of people are getting hurt lately. More than I remember from a few years ago, at least.

It also has a lot to do with the UFC granting it's fighters full medical coverage; something they didn't have a few years ago.
back then, fighters would fight through whatever injury they had, get their paycheck, and then get the injury fixed up afterwards. Now, they have the ability to get minor injuries taken care of with little out-of-pocket expense, so of course they're going to take advantage of that instead of fighting with the injury.

I'm not saying they're wrong for taking advantage of a service that they have every right to use, and I'm not saying that Forrest would have been able to fight through this particular injury even if he didn't have the full UFC-provided medical coverage, I'm just saying that if it seems like there have been more fighters dropping out of bouts due to injury overall in the last few years, this is probably why.

Back when the main topic that seemed to crop up every other week was "The UFC pays their fighters like shit" "The ufc are slave laborers" etc the product was so much better. There would be like one injury a year practically.

This is good for Forrest, he would've been man handled and maybe led into retirement.

You're absolutely right.
It's no coincidence that suddenly the fighters are better compensated while simutaneously having less desire to fight through injury.
