Nah, it was clearly a shot to the shoulder. And Dwight says "you'll be alright". I'm not saying Darryl is gonna survive the season, but that gunshot won't be how he goes.
But with Negan finally showing up, someone important is gonna meet Lucille, and you can't rule out that someone being Darryl. I'm dreading even watching the finale, because if this ends up being anything like the comics, it's gonna be savage!!

Unfortunately, I completely agree and dont really have much to add to this

Yeah just seeing it in the comics was brutal enough. I can only imagine it's gonna be even worse seeing it played out in action.

yeah....maybe Darryl isn't dead yet......but if I'm not trippin and did see that this is his last season, I'm guessing he may be who meets Lucile rather than glen.....but who knows maybe both of them.....also maybe rick cursed michone with his bad luck baby batter like the other ladies hes been with......im guessing him though......I did for sure read an interview with the show creator (Robert kirkmen?) and what he said they are aiming to do is recreate the comics experience....so if you felt one way after reading about glens death...that's what they want you to feel like after seeing that episode.....now this bit is my interpretation of that.....so since glens death made us feel X, they want negans introduction on the show to make us feel X.....(now back to something said in the article) So that's why some things in the show are not exactly like the comic....in order to get the same feeling that the comic moment evoked they change things a bit but have something to create that same feeling.....(back to my shit) so my guess is that to get the same feeling of losing glen....it will be the same basic introduction to negan but I'm guessing other fan favorite Darryl is going to die....that way were still devastated by the loss of one of our favs but maybe its someone nobody saw coming....
whew that was a rough one...I hope it makes since

Yep, I completely follow you, and have felt the same way. And I'm betting not only are they going to switch which character gets it, but they may also switch when they are killed in order to lull the fans who read the comics into thinking they know what's coming, only to make them think it's not going to happen by not having it happen when it happened in the comics, only to then have it happen at a later time after the fans think everybody is going to be safe because it didn't happen when it happened in the comics. (did THAT make any sense? lol) Kind of like what they did with Abraham not getting shot in the eye with the arrow and killed on the way to the ammo factory with Eugene like in the comics, only to have Denise get it later on unexpectedly.

I follow what both of you are saying and kind of feel the same way even though i hope it to not be true. Â I REALLY do not want Daryl to die.
One thing for sure though is that someone is dying in the finale and it will be someone pretty big. Â I already saw interviews with Maggie and Rick who both said they couldnt sleep the night before shooting because they were so upset after reading the script.
I think it also does not bode well for Daryl that there was a rumor that Merle was seen on set for the finale

Walking Dead is family night for me and my daughter (the other daughter is Game of Thrones)
Glynn dies .... that'll be ok
Daryl dies .... my daughter and I stop watching, (she paid to meet the cigarette smelling guy at a comic convention)
Anybody else, it'll hurt but wtf.
I just wish they'd all learn ambush avoidance techniques, ya think they would have figured it out by now.

I'm trying to picture who else it could be regarding making it "feel" like the comics as matt mentioned, yet still be somewhat of a surprise.
Glenn screamed out to a loved one (Maggie) as he was already 3/4ths braindead and dying in the comics, which made it that much more emotional, but Daryl doesn't really have an emotional connection to anyone other than Carol, and she's currently of the premises, so that element would be missing if it's him.
However, Michonne now has an emotional connection with someone (Rick), and could scream out to him, so I'm just sayin..........

It's gotta be him. He had his big hero moment with driving the RV to distract the Saviors. He already gave Rick the ammo plans. He said a heartfelt goodbye to everybody.
He's basically symbolically dead already.

I thought it was Abraham the whole time, because of his "I want to have a baby" scene with Sasha, but now I think it was Glenn. Â
My Theory:
I rewound it and listened to it again and I am almost sure I heard a baby crying and someone say "Maggie" Â Almost like Glenn was having a vision of his baby and then calling out to Maggie.
I spoliered my theory not because I know jackshit at all, but just in case people dont want to be led in any direction.

I think glen too...I went back and listened real close and slowed down......sounds like a gurgling "Maggie" cry from glen and what sounds like Maggie screaming "glen"

That would definitely fit in with the comic book storyline.
Another point that falls in line with that is the fact that Maggie is clearly being groomed as a future leader in some capacity on the show, and removing Glen from the equation furthers that cause of her being the strong, independent type.

I was almost leaning Maggie at first....didn't think wed be having to deal with another new born baby and that would have certainly shaken up the audience

I just went back and listened to it and didn't hear any of what you guys said you heard. I mean I'm not saying it's not there (because again, comics and all that), but I'm just not hearing it.
Maybe someone could tell me at what point to focus?

Hmmmmm.......
The Maggie "GLEN!!" scream could be something, but if someone put text that said "AHHHH!!! or even a drawn out "NAAAAOOOOO!!!!" it would sound just like those, too, with the power of suggestion. Definitely sounds at least a little like "Glen" though.
The rest of it.....I'll just say it's quite a stretch to say that's what those noises are, and someone took some serious liberties in assuming they are what they say they are. It's way to muffled and distorted to be able to honestly pick that out on your own unless you're hearing what you want to hear.
With me saying that though, it's obviously now going to be exactly what that video says it is, verbatim. lol

The more I think about this, the more I think it's a troll job by the writers. If they really want it to be a mystery and don't want the viewers to know who it is, why would they write in any audio clues at all? There's no need for it, unless they're intentionally hoping someone slows down the audio and finds these soundbites. I could see them putting this out there then going "Ha! Thought you figured it out did you? Well it's not Glen, it's ____!!!"

Starts back up this weekend!
I actually don't care a whole lot for it either. But it's an accompanying series to TWD, so I'm moderately interested to see how it plays the "origin" angle.
I'm also slightly more than moderately interested in seeing the hot young daughter sprout into a hot young walker-killing vixen, so that'll keep my attention for at least a few seasons.
