Hieron had two fights in the UFC prior to a long career in several other promotions, most notably a long stretch in the IFL as well as going through the Bellator welterweight tournament before losing to champion Ben Askren in 2011.

| Hey did any one else notice that this will be there 2nd meeting? he beat Jake back in 2006 at IFL. I guess i missed that fight cause i actually watch that league a lot. | |

| Well, thats a bit of a change up.... Should still be a good fight though. I used to watch IFL too, musta missed that fight as well... or maybe didn't pay any attention to Ellenberger at the time, since he was relatively unknown. | |
