- Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter” has officially started production in Las Vegas, with 32 to-be-named bantamweight and featherweight prospects comprising the cast of Spike TV’s long-running reality show.
The participation of 32 men this season comes in sharp contrast to the previous season’s offering, in which only 14 fighters were featured. The network announced the news on Friday, and Sherdog.com has confirmed with a source close to the series that there will be no wild-card bout this season. Instead, the series will return to another familiar format, as every competitor must once again fight his way into the “The Ultimate Fighter” house.
This season will feature middleweight contenders Michael Bisping (Pictured; file photo) and Jason Miller as coaches. Bisping is an alum of the show, as the Brit won Season 3 as a light heavyweight. He reappeared on the series for its ninth season, coaching opposite Dan Henderson.

| The wild card was nice but with all the injuries that happen the top guys usually get a second chance anyway. I like the fight to get in the house concept a lot more. Weeds out the guys who shouldn't have been there in the first place. | |

| Yea, it should be god fo sure. But even though the dynamic between Mayhem and Bisping will be hilarious, I hope thy don't put too much focus on the coaches. | |

| I figured I just add this here insted of starting a new topic.
The UFC announced this week that the coaches clash between The Ultimate Fighter 14's Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller will be a five round main event non-title fight.

| I miss the fact that the losers had to leave the house. Remember on TUF 1...by the time Forrest fought there were like 2 or 3 people left in the house. He started to get nuttier than he already his due to boredom and no one being around. Plus, haven't a yahoo defeated doesn't boot him out of the house and we still have to put up with this stupid hair cut and attitude for the rest of the season. The show and fighters could then focus on training and fighting more vs drama. | |

| I think that aspect of the show made it too "Survivor-esk" for my liking, granted it did put more emphasis on performing and winning to stay in the house; therefor continuing a fighters ability to learn and be coached while in the house still.
I think now that the show is primarily focused on the fighters in the house and improving there skills; they have gone away from that so more fighters can stay and learn and help the remaining fighters train; which I think is a better scenario. Plus it makes it more entertaining imo because there is more personalities to conflict. | |
