| This is brinking on fighter bashing imo. I will have no part of it, didn't look to me like he was scared of Nick when combo him with the left hook, left outside leg kick and right high kick to the mouth! just saying. The epitome of fear indeed, lol | |

| nice...you put up the 2 good attacks condit had! very defining indeed
fact of the matter is CONDIT WAS SCARED! now that being said you can argue that it was smart for him to be scared and was smart of him to stay away like he did.
point is....a long time ago there were warriors who would engage in sword play and jousting and other sorts of physical tests to prove honor....somewhere along the lines that changed to fencing......im afraid the sport of mma (cage fighting) is on its way to becoming something like fencing which is a far cry from what most of us want to see...i would go and pay to watch two warriors going at it....i would not pay a dime to watch a fencing contest and i feel that is why jacksons idea of mma is bad for the sport......bottom line condit gsp has all the makings of a snoozfest title fight...damn shame imo where this style is taking the ufc!

Sounds to me like you're more of a fan of mindless tough man competitions where guys just go in and throw wild bombs or a few seconds til one gets KO'd; now I am not disagreeing with the pure entertainment value of that "sport"; but don't compare that shit to MMA. You sound like a sad fans who was expecting a brutal violent slug-fest with a similar result to the one of Hardy - Condit. The significant difference here being Nick Diaz is a far better striker than any other welterweight, and that game plan would not have worked well for Condit. (You know this) A better question is maybe what do you do in that same situation? Just go out throw caution to the wind and swing for the fences til someone goes to sleep? You could do that, but its not smart; cause your in a MMA fight not a bar. You did get one thing right though, this is Chrom's site, he says what goes and what doesn't; my respect for Condit as a fighter should be kept to myself.

| should have said before but i actually like condit also....so im not upset with who won its how....and like i stated its greg jacksons idea of mma......so many fights now days go to decision...maybe due to the high skill level and nullifying each other which is a great thing to watch, thats when you get the proverbial "chess match" when both fighter are trying to finish each other using their skills and assets......not point fighting tap tap run....if thats going to be the direction mma is going why not give head gear and full sparing pads, then those guys wont have to worry about getting hurt....
also i never argued good decision bad decision, it is what it is and i could see reasons both could have won or lost.....your sort of right...im a sad fan who wishes fighters wouldnt be so eager to go to the judges and win an opinion but rather show up to make a point through a combination of toughness and skill.
in this sport you should be more worried going into a fight about getting beat up not getting out pointed and sadly thats not always the case and that dose make me sad!

| Yeah yeah,
So I might have taken it a little serious, but I am bothered by eveyone saying Carlos ran away the whole fight; I'm with Samger, a great game plan implemented and executed.
He out struck Diaz, both total and Power strikes; how does he not win. and yes I know fight metric doesn't tell the whole story of the fight)
But what did Diaz do that makes him such the clear winner here?
I said it before if a fighter chases another fighter around the cage and gets beat on the entire time; does he deserve to win the fight because of the pressure? I don't think so. imo
The troll is pretty BA. | |

| Whoa brother,
Its just an opinion, I watched it and seen no way Diaz won that fight.
I scored it 48 - 47 Condit
and the non-5th round in favor of Diaz was close, could've went either way.

| Just so we're clear on the issue here, we all pretty much agree that Condit won. Throwing out scores and power strike stats and all that shit is redundant. The problem is that he was scared........homie. | |

Can we all just agree that Fedor sucks? LOL< you got my vote Kriig's; I have been a firm believer for a long time that both Fedor and Nick Diaz had not been fighting the best fighters in their respective divisions for a long time. I still really want to see Nick Diaz fight guys like: Sanchez, Koscheck, Fitch, Ellenberger, Shields?; I think those would all be great tests for him; hell even Rick Story, Thiago Alvez, Junny Hendricks or Charlie Brenneman. There is a paper trail of guys I would love to see nick fight, and that is not even saying that because I think he would lose; just would be great to see him fight some of those guys some day. and on to Fedor, we all seen what happened to him once he started fighting bigger and more skilled guys as well as guys with equivalent status in the sport. He lost, Werdum caught him; Silva smashed him bad and Henderson took him out with dynamic striking which surprised the hell out of me. But he is beatable, just like every other fighter in MMA. Back to topic though, I think Diaz should drop down fight 2 fights against some top tier WW's and see where he is at; then he can fight whomever the champion is at the time. GSP lost to Serra, granted it wasn't close but he had to work his way back up to the belt; but I know GSP was going through some personal shit and wasn't concentrating on MMA when he lost (no excuse though, i guess).\ @Trig: Nah, he wasn'tscared; smart is a better word than scared i this instance
